Discover A World of Video In Your Pocket With The Newest Version of Squrl

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) May 10, 2012

Squrl is excited to announce the latest update to their popular video discovery service is now available in the Apple App Store. This new update brings our popular iPad experience to the iPhone, providing users with one central hub to discover and play videos across the iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. With the explosion of video apps and websites Squrl ensures consumers will not miss out by bringing together the video they care about from the most popular sources in one place. The ability to playlist videos across different providers without having to queue up the next video, jump around from website to website or app to app makes for a unique mobile video experience.

We want to make video easy for our usersfrom discovery to watching and sharing, says Mark Gray, CEO and co-founder of Squrl.

A streamlined start experience lets users tell Squrl what they are interested in immediately upon entry with categories like “Make me laugh, “Show me the future,” “Give me gossip,” “Keep me informed,” and more. Squrl creates a personalized channel guide of content from a variety of providers that match the consumers desires with playlists of video ready to watch.

Focusing on bringing the best content to consumers, Squrl has refined and expanded its content offerings. The “Fresh” section brings the most recent unwatched content to the forefront, so users can stay on top of the latest videos. There are opportunities to discover trending video across their social networks in the new “What’s Hot” section or in their friends activity feed. The channel guide highlights the thousands of feeds and millions of videos Squrl supports from hundreds of providers like Youtube, Netflix, Hulu with new additions of Khan Academy, BloombergTV, Chow, DIY Network, Travel Channel, The Ellen Show and much more.

“Our last iPad update showed incredible results. Total downloads doubled and our conversion rate from download to registered user went from 35% to 70%, effectively quadrupling our active user base. Whats been most exciting is the high rate of user engagement. When a user starts to watch video in Squrl, the average session length is now approximately 50 minutes. Today we are bringing this very engaging video experience from the iPad and putting into the hands of an even larger, more mobile audience on the iPhone,” says Gray.

Single touch sign-in with Facebook and Twitter now lets users get to video faster and makes sharing simple. Sharing content to Facebook has been made completely frictionless with Squrl’s new Timeline integration. Squrl has also simplified the user interface by adding a new press and hold menu for actions like liking, sharing, getting more information about a video, and adding a video to a watch-later queue.

“We happy to announce our Facebook Timeline integration that lets our engaged users control how they share their playlists and video they have collected with their Facebook friends. We think this will be a fantastic way to introduce Squrl to hundreds of millions of new people.” said Michael Hoydich, COO and co-founder of Squrl.

Latest Post from iPhone Tips Blog, iPhoneSamurai.com, Announces Important Tips for iPhone Newbies

New York, NY (PRWEB) May 11, 2012

iPhoneSamurai.com is one of the worlds most visited iPhone Tips blogs. Offering daily tips and advice to those addicted to their iPhones, information can be read directly from their blog, or via a daily digest email.

Today, Benny Meyer at iPhoneSamurai.com published his latest post, titled Must-Learn Tips for iPhone Newbies.

iPhone fans can access the new blog post here:

http://iphonesamurai.com/must-learn-tips-for-iphone-newbies/

In his latest post, Benny makes it clear to iPhone newbies that they can either learn about their handset by experimenting themselves, or by learning from the experiences of others.

The first tip Benny shares is to avoid the lure of what he calls App Addiction.

All the new iPhone users do this. When they see a new iPhone with millions of possibilities, they download all kinds of apps they find. And what happens then? Most of these apps get deleted, and that too within just 48 hours Benny writes.

He suggests carefully reading reviews and choosing only the most useful Apps to avoid the handset becoming sluggish.

The next tip pertains to the iPhones battery. To ensure it lasts for as long as possible, Benny suggests lowering the screen brightness. He also suggests only putting the device on charge if one third or less of the battery juice remains.

Bennys next tip literally keeps new iPhone users out of hot water.

Unless you want to learn things the hard way, dont take your iPhone to the shower. You might be addicted to its music app, and listening to music in the shower seems pretty nice, but Apple gets to know if your iPhone has been ruined by water. And as soon as that happens, BAM, your warranty is void he says.

Continuing his tips for new iPhone owners, Benny makes some useful suggestions such as always preserving a proportion of the handsets memory, not pulling on the connector cord and setting a password right from the get-go.

With many useful tips, Bennys latest blog post is sure to be a success among those wanting the best possible start with their new best friend!

Who Date iOS App Is a Fun and Playful Way To Rate Dates

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) May 15, 2012

Date Rater, Inc., the developer of Who Date, has just released the latest update for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users. Who Date 1.0 provides users with a fun and playful way to rate the success of a date. Dates are rated on a scale of 1-10, based on criteria entered by the user; but the fun part is the image manipulation feature that automatically morphs the subject’s image based on the user’s rating. Dating results can be shared on Twitter and Facebook, or by email or SMS.

Who Date 1.0 Features Include:

Morphs photo to show your date’s true nature
Fun and easy to follow format
Share via Twitter, email, SMS, and Facebook
Calculates dates overall score
Connects to iTunes
Rates dates on a scale of 1-10 according to your “Best Date” standards
In-app purchase of additional date questions

Using this app is simple. Before their date, users enter their “Best Date” criteria and upload a photo of their potential love interest. After the date, the app asks 6 questions about the person they just met. As the user enters their answers, Who Date 1.0 morphs their date’s photo to reflect what the app thinks is their true nature. The photo morphs a little more with each answered question.

The app also gives an overall rating of the date on a scale of 1-10. The rating is tailored to each user, as it is based on the criteria they entered before their date. Users have the option of rating up to 4 dates to compare notes, or rating the same person repeatedly, over a number of dates. Since people are often on their best behavior at the beginning of a relationship, it can be very telling to see how a rating changes after 3 or 4 dates!

People often like to brag about a great date, or warn others about really bad ones so their friends don’t make the same mistake. Who Date 1.0 lets them do this by posting morphed images and results to Twitter and Facebook, or sharing them via SMS or email.

About Date Rater, Inc

Date Rater, Inc. is a Los Angeles group formed to assist those who need a little help in the dating world. CEO Ronald Kustek, co-creator of Le Petite Retreat day spa and founder of GeriCareFinder.com, designed an app to let people see who they really may be dating. Who Date is also designed to provide push notifications in the future of dating ideas for a users area.

Device Requirements:
