In a rare feat in the gaming community, Jonathan Bradley Smith has achieved the distinction of being the first player to reach Diablo 3 level 60. This achievement was accomplished after a practically non-stop play time of 43 hours which he spent in a constant cycle of playing, eating and napping.
Diablo 3, launched by Blizzard has been a huge hit, breaking pre sales records and has a cult like following, many eagerly awaiting the game since its predecessor was launched in 2001. Jonathan is no different and claims he has been awaiting its launch since talks of Diablo 3 first surfaced 4 years ago.
When asked how he achieved leveling to 60 in a record smashing 2 days, he believed that it all boiled down to determination and a daily system to keep him healthy and alert as well as an optimal and efficient class build.
He stayed fresh with a regime which he mentioned originated from the great Leonardo Da Vinci whereby he slept 15 minutes for every 4 hours he was awake. This helped him to be aware and allowed him to fully concentrate on his game play, meshing the skills and runes to make a truly dominating build which helped him breeze through the game, all the way to Level 60.
He also gave credit to his teammates who periodically joined his games to keep the game more entertaining with banter and encouragement. When playing in a group, even though the mobs become harder to kill, its always more fun because youre with friends and that makes the process a whole lot easier to go by he said.
However, his feats may strike a nerve with the game developers who had believed that Diablo 3 leveling would have kept gamers busy with leveling for at least 2 months. But according to Jonathan, Even though it took me a short time to complete the game, it wasnt easy deciding which skills and runes were best suited to the character, more often than not, the latest unlocked skills and runes werent a good fit to match the barbarian melee class. Most gamers would still struggle in the later stages in the game even if they find it easy in the early stages because of the lack of knowledge in this aspect.
